Caroline Gallagher, Esq. specializes in family law, cannabis business law, and estate planning at Advocate Law, PLLC. Ms. Gallagher worked for years as general counsel for a financial advising firm and brings an extensive background in finance, corporate formation, compliance, and business law to her practice. This experience allows her to give comprehensive legal advice that considers both the legal and financial needs of businesses and individuals alike.

Family Law

Skilled in strategic negotiations, and known for her tenacity, Ms. Gallagher helps her clients reach amicable resolutions without the need for litigation, if that can be achieved. Nevertheless, she believes in always being ready to engage the full power of the judicial process to protect her client’s rights, and advocate on their behalf to the fullest extent of the law. This dual approach allows Ms. Gallagher the flexibility to employ a customized strategy that prioritizes her individual clients’ specific needs and objectives.

Cannabis Business Law

Ms. Gallagher has been involved in the cannabis industry in Virginia since 2020. Her practice focuses on working with businesses on recreational licensing, corporate formation, startup financing, regulatory compliance, and much more. Ms. Gallagher has been on the Ethics Committee for the International Cannabis Bar Association, a member of the American Bar Association: Cannabis Law and Policy Section, the Virginia Cannabis Business Association, and the Legal Committee for Virginia NORML, and been a speaker at multiple cannabis conferences across the Commonwealth.

Ms. Gallagher was born in New Jersey and raised in North Carolina. She has travelled to 16 countries over 4 continents, and plans on many more. When she is not working, or traveling, Ms. Gallagher enjoys hot yoga, reading, solo hiking and camping, and spending time with family, friends, and her cat – Sir Winston Churchill Gallagher.
